How Long Does Liposuction Last?
Liposuction is permanent, but you can still gain weight in the treated areas if you do not keep your eating habits in check. When fat cells are removed through liposuction, they’re gone for good, but the remaining fat cells can still grow larger down the road.

Liposuction Recovery Tips
Do Not Drive Immediately
Unless you received a small amount of liposuction and were not sedated, you will not be able to drive after the procedure; the anesthesia used can cause drowsiness. Ask someone you trust to be available to drive you back home after the procedure.
Take it Easy
Fortunately, the tumescent liposuction technique produces minimal discomfort when stacked up against other methods. However, you’ll want to avoid strenuous exercise and consider taking a day or two off of work. Take slow and gentle walks to promote blood circulation.
Keep Swelling at Bay
While your body will return to normal in time, swelling is a common side effect of liposuction. Stay hydrated, reduce your sodium intake, and avoid alcohol for approximately 48 hours after the procedure.
